I am basically a photographer at heart. I was serious about art and drawing before I could read or write. My parents gave me a 35mm camera for high school graduation. From the moment I picked up that first real camera, all of my visual art has originated in a camera. I learned much about form and composition during my time at DAAP at the University of Cincinnati studying fine art.
The photography ramped up when I started shooting for the KamerArt Group of northern Kentucky. I then began shooting weddings with and for Don Moore. That is when I really learned the craft and art of portraiture. The pressures and demands of wedding photography, along with the example shared by Don, made the craft of portraiture second nature. His instruction on the art of portraiture was game changing. I am quite lucky to have had one of the best portrait photographers as a mentor and example. From then on it’s been a pretty continuous quest for images that communicate the life and personality of the subject. I hope we get to work together and show off your personality real soon.
